Delivery & insurance

Quoted live for your address · insured for the price paid · office@avant.dev

You see the complete price of a work, delivery included, before you put it in the bag. There is no estimate to be corrected later and nothing is added at checkout.

01

How a delivery price is made

On the page of a work, enter your country and postal code. No account is needed, and the site remembers the destination for the next work you look at. We ask the carriers at that moment, with the real size and weight of that work once packed, from the place where it is kept, to your postal code. You see the options side by side: the carrier and its service, the working days including the time we need to pack, and the price with insurance inside. You choose one, and only then can the work go into the bag. At checkout your full address confirms the same price. If you decide to send it somewhere else, the delivery is quoted again for the new address and you see the old and the new price before paying.

02

Inside Mexico

Door to door with national carriers, by road or by air. Prices include VAT and there are no customs charges. Most cities receive a work within a week of the order.

03

Outside Mexico

Works travel by express air carrier, door to door, with tracking from collection to signature. We prepare the export and customs documents and declare the price you paid. Import duties and taxes are decided by the country that receives the work and are collected by the carrier before delivery, under the rules in force on the day it arrives. They are not part of our price unless the delivery option says they are prepaid. Under your delivery options you will find what we know about your country; many countries tax original works of art at a reduced rate. If you buy as a company, or your customs asks for a tax number, tell us at checkout so it appears on the documents.

04

Insurance

Every work is insured in transit for the price you paid, from the moment the carrier collects it until you sign for it. The cost is inside the delivery price and shown with it; it is not optional, because a work that travels uninsured is a risk neither of us should take. If a work arrives damaged, the loss is ours, not yours: tell us within 48 hours with photographs of the box and the work, and we take it from there.

05

Large, heavy or very valuable works

Some works should not travel as a parcel: sculpture, works over a certain size or value, anything that needs a crate. Their page says so, and we quote them by hand with fine-art carriers within 48 hours. You can buy the work once you accept the price. Where an artist allows it, a large canvas can also travel rolled in a rigid tube, unstretched, at a fraction of the price. The option appears next to the others, and re-stretching it is on the collector.

06

Collection in person

You can collect a work in Mexico City, by appointment, at no cost. Choose that option on the page of the work.

07

Receiving your work

You receive the tracking number by email as soon as the carrier collects the work, and it appears on your order page at the same time, with every step until delivery. Have someone present on the day. Look at the box before signing; if it is damaged, write it on the carrier's receipt and photograph it. Open it within 48 hours. The certificate of authenticity travels with the work.

08

Where we cannot deliver

We do not quote, sell or ship to destinations under international sanctions: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, Belarus, and the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.

09

Returns

Returns, refunds and your rights are on the page Returns & delivery (/returns).
