Director of Marketing

Lead how Avant.Dev is seen and found: the gallery’s voice, its exhibitions and fairs, its artists’ stories, and the path that takes a collector from a first look to a first work. You will work next to the director and the artists, with a programme in Mexico City and at fairs abroad.

requirements

  • Five or more years in marketing or communications at a gallery, an auction house, an art fair, a museum or a luxury brand
  • Launches you led yourself: exhibitions, fair presentations, sales campaigns or an artist’s first show
  • A feel for how collectors decide: the catalogue online, the private view, the newsletter and the follow-up after a fair
  • A strong editorial voice in English and Spanish
  • Press relations with art and culture media in Mexico and abroad
  • Comfort with numbers: you read the analytics and the sales, and change the plan

nice to have

  • Experience selling art online
  • A network among collectors, advisors or curators in Latin America, the United States or Europe
  • Direction of photography, video or design for exhibitions
  • A portfolio we can read: catalogues, campaigns, press

Finance & Operations · Full-time · Mexico City / Remote

Director of Finance & Operations

Keep the gallery’s house in order: what each sale brings in, what each artist is owed, what a fair or a shipment costs, and the paperwork that lets a work travel. You will work next to the director, with artists and collectors in several countries and currencies.

requirements

  • Five or more years in finance at a gallery, an auction house, a design or luxury business, or a firm that served them
  • Solid knowledge of Mexican tax and invoicing for a business that also sells abroad
  • Sales in several currencies: pesos, dollars, pounds and euros
  • Artist payments and consignment accounting: who is owed what, and when
  • Budgets for exhibitions, fairs, shipping and insurance, and the discipline to keep them
  • English and Spanish, working proficiency in both

nice to have

  • Experience with the import and export of works of art
  • Familiarity with the identity checks the law asks for on high-value sales
  • Online payments and their reconciliation
  • A calm way of explaining numbers to artists and collectors
