biography

Camilo Ángeles is a sound artist, flutist, and composer with over 15 years of experience expanding the timbral possibilities of the flute through extended techniques, electronic processing, and hyperamplification. His practice integrates the body as part of the instrument while exploring ancestral sound traditions and contemporary technology. As co-director of TVL REC label, Ángeles creates installations and electroacoustic instruments that challenge the boundaries between tradition and modernity. His work "Isla de Huacos," awarded by the Lima Museum of Contemporary Art, combines pre-Columbian ceramic whistles with electronic processing systems. Currently developing multimedia installations that merge sound, video, and electronic processing, Ángeles's practice requires intense listening experiences that reveal themselves through deep audience engagement.
