The certificate that travels with your work
What comes with a work from our gallery: a certificate signed by the artist, the gallery and you, that anyone can check and that moves with the work.
ByErick González

When a work leaves our gallery, something small leaves with it: its certificate. It is not a diploma to frame. It is the work's memory, and it is designed so that you never have to think about it until the day you need it.
Three signatures
Once a work is paid for, its certificate is prepared from the gallery's record: title, year, medium, dimensions, a photograph. Then three people sign it, each from their own email: the artist, the gallery and you. Until all three have signed, the certificate says so.
A page anyone can check
Every certificate has a code and a QR. Scan it and a public page opens with the work, the artist and its stamps. Your name and what you paid are not there unless you decide to show them. An insurer, a framer or a future buyer can confirm in a minute that the work is what it says, at verify a certificate.
In your phone
From your account you can add the certificate to your phone's wallet, next to your boarding passes. It is a nice thing to show at dinner.
If the work changes hands
If you sell or give the work, the certificate is transferred, not reissued: the new owner signs, the history stays whole and the artist's resale royalty is recorded. Nothing in that history can be quietly edited afterwards, by us or by anyone.
What it is not
It is not a cryptocurrency and you need nothing special to use it. It does not replace the invoice. And it does not promise what the work will be worth; it promises that the work is what it says, which is the part that lasts.
What to do with yours
Sign it when the email arrives, keep the invoice with it, and tell us if the work moves house, goes on loan or finds a new owner. That is all. There is more about them on the certificates page.
