Buying art from far away, calmly

How to buy art online from another city or country: the images to ask for, a call with the work on the wall and what to have in writing.

ByErick González

Weather Has Been Nice, Andrea Wolf

Buying a work you have not stood in front of is normal now. It works well when the gallery behaves as if you were in the room. Here is what to ask for, from us or from anyone.

Images that tell the truth

Ask for more than the beautiful photograph: the work straight on in daylight, a detail of the surface, the edges and the back, the signature, and the work next to a person or a chair so you can feel its size. A short video taken by hand is even better.

A call with the work on the wall

Twenty minutes on a video call does most of what a visit does. You see scale, colour and surface, and you can ask anything. Book one with us at an hour that suits your time zone.

Everything in writing before you pay

The price and what it includes.

The delivery cost to your address. Here it appears on the work's page when you enter your country and postal code.

What the certificate is and who signs it.

The return terms. Ours are on the Returns & delivery page.

When the box arrives

Our deliveries travel insured for the price you paid. Open the box soon, take a few photographs as you unpack, and if anything is wrong tell us within 48 hours.

Paying

Pay through the gallery's own site or to an account in the gallery's name, never to a "new account" announced by email. If something feels odd, call.

If you would like company

This is what we do every day from Mexico City: help people find, buy and live with original contemporary art. Book a free 30-minute call, or simply look at the works available now.
