Figures and portraits

Bodies, faces and the scenes around them, in every medium the gallery shows: portraits printed on bamboo, a hen in oil, figures in video, a scene from a tianguis on transparent PVC. The figurative side of the roster, thirteen works from 2022 to 2026.

Milka Goldaracena portrays Lucía (entre pescadores), Itzel and María Bravo on bamboo sheet and paints La gallera on linen. Obvioquesi’s La Tianguis Sexo Disidente exists as a video and as two prints on transparent PVC. Darío Phillipi’s Gallina is the one oil here. Mariana Tof’s interiors with figures, La pollera amarilla and Nunca he comprado nada en Ikea among them, have found their collectors, and Valentina Guerrero’s videos are on loan.

A portrait is the easiest work to live with and the hardest to part with. The prints and the linen travel flat with the delivery quoted at checkout; the certificate names the work, the edition where there is one, and stays in your account.
